Breathe- Hazel Basil at Easthampton Cityspace

At 5 years old, music was already an important force in Hazel's life. Learning piano, violin, and upright bass, she made her way through the world loving music and using it to find her place in the world. When she discovered her love of guitar, these feelings only increased. She began writing music and playing every day. Her love of guitar carried her through struggles with trauma and deep depression. In 2021, Hazel discovered that she was transgender, and felt an immense surge of love and care for herself and her community. Since this discovery, Hazel has shared her music with communities across western Mass, at venues like the Parlor Room, Iron Horse, and Academy of Music.

Breathe is a thank you note to everyone in Hazel's life who has gotten her to this point, and she hopes that she can share with her community the healing power of music…
